It is the mission of Project Taney to create and sustain an accessible and beneficial educational resource base for students and educators of Taney County history and to foster the development of students into knowledgeable, productive community members who share a respect for the PAST, an objective awareness of the PRESENT, and a vision for the FUTURE of Taney County, Missouri.

PROJECT GOALS

To accomplish the mission of Project Taney, Inc., we propose a fully integrated educational program founded upon these goals:

  • to promote and support a collaborative study of Taney County history, geography, and society using mulitmedia technology.
  • to aid in the preservation of Taney County's historical record, cultural heritage, and natural environment utilizing students' research, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • to provide a forum within which students and community leaders might engage in meaningful dialogue about local societal issues and concerns.
  • to encourage and support productive citizenship and community service.
