Water, Water Everywhere
The following suggested student activity was created by a team of teachers during a summer workshop in conjunction with Southwest Baptist University. Working in cooperative groups, have students research answers to the following questions. Ask them to report back to the class. As a class, students can then decide how to communicate the learned information to the community at large. |
| Math 3; SS4 | *Who uses the most water and should they be charged accordingly? *How much does it cost to treat water? |
| Health and PE 1, 2 | *How can we use water to promote physical fitness? *Why does our body need water? |
| Fine Arts 5 | *How do professional artists portray water quality in the Ozarks? *What songs do we have about water in the Ozarks? |
| Science 8; SS4,5 | *How and why should I test my water? *What is the relationship between Karst topography and our water supply? |
| Social Studies 4, 6 | *How does the water affect the economy? *What organization takes care of the water? |
